Our Guiding Principles

Guiding principles of an organization are often referred to as core values. Core values are the fundamental beliefs or highest priorities of an organization and these values never change.

At CAA, the following principles or core values guide our day-to-day decisions.

~ Set high standards
We act with integrity, always.

~ Win-win-win
We act in the best interests of our members, our team, and our association.

~ Make a difference
The question that drives us is how can we make a positive impact today for our members and our industry?

~ Be passionate
Passion and determination are at the heart of all that we do.

~ Work together
We achieve our best results by collaborating as a team and with others.

~ Cultivate relationships
Connecting with members, organizations, and officials in all levels of government ensures our success.

These principles or core values are the foundation for our vision and mission.

A vision is a picture of the future and a rudder for guiding an organization forward. A vision should challenge and stretch an organization in a positive, shared direction. In complementary fashion, a mission spells out how to achieve the organizational vision often with strategic goals and action plans. Lastly, implementation of the goals and plans is often the toughest step but the most rewarding part of the process.

At CAA, our vision is ensuring that there is always a strong, vibrant, and growing cigar industry. We unite our members in the common causes of advocacy, community, and knowledge and provide them with the tools and resources to help them navigate through the current changing and challenging business environment.
