Imports of premium cigars from Nicaragua have been on the rise in recent years. A number of tobacco farms and cigar factories are located in Esteli, Nicaragua. Esteli is about 100 miles north of Managua with a population of almost 120,000. Esteli is also the third largest city in Nicaragua.

Today, Esteli is know as the cigar capital of Nicaragua. In a relatively short period of time, the cigar industry has become part of the identity of Esteli.  It will be interesting to see how the continued growth and expansion of the city from the cigar industry continues in the near term and in the future.
